Support for Families
We understand that preschool can bring changes and challenges for families. The Saskatoon Preschool Foundation (SPF) offers financial assistance to qualifying families in the form of tuition subsidies. An application form must be submitted to the SPF office (you can locate the form on the SPF website https://www.spf.sk.ca/pages/subsidies2). The subsidies are limited in both the amount (up to $1000 for 2x/week and $1400 for 3x/week preschool) and the number of subsidies they can provide. Learn more at the SPF Website.
Parental Involvement
As a cooperative preschool, we rely on the invaluable support of our families. Parents or guardians assist in the classroom as Helper or Snack shift every 4-6 weeks, fostering a sense of community and connection.
-
Scheduling: The Board will provide a schedule with the dates you are required to volunteer. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate individual schedules for Helper/Snack parent days. If you are unable to work on your scheduled day, it will be your responsibility to trade days. On occasion, families may be invited to provide snacks for special occasions when requested by the room representative. The preschool does not permit any food items containing nuts.
-
Birthdays: Parents are scheduled to work on or around their child's birthday and children will be given special birthday certificates. The snack they provide can be comprised of a nutritious & a treat.
-
Criminal Record Checks (CRCs): Required before your first helper shift, and our board ensures the process is straightforward and convenient.
-
Toy Wash Night: Each family has been assigned one evening toy cleaning session to take place sometime during the school year. A $150 deposit is taken at the beginning of the school year. This deposit will be returned to you when you attend your scheduled toy clean up.
-
Sick Policy: ECP enforces a strict sick policy and students cannot attend preschool if they are showing any symptoms of ANY illness. Children who have signs of illness such as fever, cough, diarrhea, vomiting or rashes should not attend preschool until they are well and/or treated by a doctor.
We can't wait to welcome your child to preschool!
